Clear Space, Clear Mind: Office Accessories That Help You Keep A Clear Desk

Posted on: 28 June 2016

If you tend to get easily distracted while working, one of the first pieces of action that you need to take is to clear off your desk. Having a cluttered desk will make it difficult to keep on task, as you will be looking at and thinking about the clutter. Sometimes you may even sit down to work, but find yourself distracted by having to clean. To combat this issue, you should set up a work space that avoids any clutter. Here are some office setups and accessories that will keep your work area clear.

Short filing cabinet

A short filing cabinet that you can lean over to access is an excellent place to keep office accessories. Everything from extra paper, to planners, to notes can be kept inside of a short office filing cabinet. Get file separators and label each section, so that you do not have to go digging for any items. Keep daily use items in the top cabinet and place extra supplies or items that you will need irregularly on the bottom cabinet. Make sure that the cabinets are easy to slide open, so that you do not have to go through an unlocking process to get into a cabinet.

A drawer separator

Drawer separators can be a life saver for those who need to have small office supplies on hand at all times. Supplies such as pencils, pens, paper clips, glue sticks, and staplers may seem small, but they can take up a lot of space on the desk in the long run. It is also easy for these items to become cluttered on the desk, irritating your ability to complete work. A drawer separator for the drawers on your desk will help you keep the space clear and make sure that things are easy to grab when necessary.

White board or chalk board and magnets

Instead of creating printed sheets to detail your day or having to write out and find a to-do list, put up a white board or a chalk board in front of your desk. At the end of the day or at the beginning of the day you can detail the day's goals and tasks. Erase the tasks as soon as you have completed them. This will help to keep your desk clear but also keep you on the task at hand. On the chalkboard or white board, install a magnetic strip. Glue a magnet on the back of the pen or chalk you need to write with, along with smaller items such as the USB drive that you use regularly, or your keys, so that they are in easy reach if you have a job that requires you to make runs.

An office furniture and supply store may have some of the accessories mentioned above to help you reduce clutter and stay focused at work.

Location Still Matters Even In The Digital World

Welcome to my website. I'm Joe Spears. A common adage for business is that it is all about location, location, location. Where you are able to open your storefront plays a large role in the success of your business. The same is true in the online world. If you want your real estate to sell, you need to understand where your properties need to be listed. I know this because I have purchased a much larger number of properties than your average Joe. Because of my interest in real estate, I have decided to create a blog that focuses on the marketing of real estate both online and offline.
